$12 million upgrades coming to Philly’s Xfinity Live!

Big changes are coming to the Xfinity Live! dining and entertainment district at the South Philadelphia Sports Complex.

Comcast Spectacor and The Cordish Companies have announced plans for a $12 million upgrade of Xfinity Live! destination in the Philadelphia Sports Complex, where the Phillies’ Citizens Bank Park, the Eagle’s Lincoln Financial Field, and the Flyers’ Wells Fargo Center are located. These venues and Cordish’s Live! Casino & Hotel host approximately 380 events, 7 million visitors, and 5.5 million vehicle trips each year.

Upgrades to the interior and exterior of the plaza, which will add several new gathering areas and terraces, are slated to begin this year with an anticipated completion date of 2025 or early 2026. It will be done in phases to allow areas of the facility to always remain open.

Since opening in 2012, Xfinity Live! has been the dining, entertainment, and hospitality anchor for the city. More details on Xfinity Live!’s upgrades will be shared in the coming months.

“We are excited to announce this reinvestment of Xfinity Live! and to provide a refreshed plaza experience for our guests,” stated Erin Seifert, director of operations for Xfinity Live! “Xfinity Live! has become the living room for the community over the past 12 years and these enhancements will allow us to continue providing first-class hospitality to our millions of guests.”

Construction of Xfinity Live! exceeded minority and women business enterprise (MWBE) thresholds, achieving a 45% contracting diversity percentage. The companies say they are committed to the same during the upgrades to the interior, exterior and plaza areas. In addition to Xfinity Live!, The Cordish Companies has invested over $800 million in the Philadelphia Sports Complex with the opening of its casino in 2021, reaching 51% MWBE participation during construction.

“It is a tremendous honor for The Cordish Companies to grow our partnership with Comcast Spectacor,” said Blake Cordish, principal of The Cordish Companies. “We are proud to continue investing in South Philadelphia to create a new community plaza experience for Philadelphians to celebrate and enjoy. Comcast Spectacor is the premier operator of venues in Philadelphia and is steadfastly committed to delivering an unparalleled experience for Philadelphia fans.”
